Azam ready for FAR challenge

Tanzania's sole representatives in 2013 continental tournaments, Azam FC, will be subjected to maximum test when they face Moroccan side FAR Rabat today but coach Stewart John Hall says his team is ready for the challenge.

"It is a good side. I have watched them five times, three times on DVDs and two times live, thus we have clear idea on how they play," he said.

He affirmed that in those five games they have used 14 players and they have scored three goals and conceded one goal. “This is a clear indication that they almost keep the same squad, they don't score many goals and they don't concede many either."

Hall says he understands that his opponents will be tactically disciplined, a factor that necessitates Azam FC to play with their heads. "We have to be disciplined too.

I believe in our pace; we can upset them on the counter attack," noted the Briton.
He observed further that Azam FC have a tactical plan and have a clear idea on how FAR Rabat play, and the work ahead is to put the two things together to win the game.
Following a scoreless draw in Dar es Salaam a fortnight ago, Azam need a victory or a score draw to advance to the third round of the Confederation Cup.

Asked on the Azam's best away performance compared to home, the tactician said in away games teams play open games, making it easier for Azam to play.

"In Juba when we were leading 3-1 from the first leg, Al Nasri wanted to beat us in the early stages of the second leg. As a result we won 5-0.

“Likewise in Monrovia, BYC II tried to do the same but the game went on our side as we eventually won 2-1,” he asserted.
The coach has confirmed that he will make only one change by bringing in Ugandan import Brian Umony who will be operating on the right flank, replacing Mcha Khamis for the purpose of attacking with pace.

Mwadini Ali will maintain his position as goalkeeper, assisted by Himid Mao and Waziri Salum on the right and left back, respectively.

The center backs are David Mwantika and Jockins Atudo. The midfield will be commanded by Michael Bolou, shouldered by Salum Abubakar and Humphrey Mieno.

Umony wil lead the attack from the right flank as attacks from the left flank will be entrusted to Kipre Tchetche, as captain John Bocco will play as leading striker.

Azam FC have been in Rabat for most of the week. The match will be officiated by Algerian referee Abib Medh.
